i've been in prague for just about 24 hours now. it's hard to believe i'm here... 3 years of anticipation and i've finally arrived.
meredith and i left charlotte on wednesday and arrived in frankfurt thursday (yesterday) morning with a 2 hour layover before heading to prague. we made it to prague before lunchtime, but with a little snag. the airline forgot to place meredith's bag on the plane so we had to wait for the next flight that, thankfully, had her suitcase on board.
we took a shuttle to the pension, domov mladeze, which is not as far from downtown prague as i had originally thought it would be. the pension is great, very clean and the people that work there seem to be very nice so far. and the neighborhood surrounding seems to be pretty nice as well.
we walked around some last night, trying to fight off the sleepyness. we found a little italian place, and we shared a margherita pizza for $6. not bad. it's kinda pathetic that we didn't eat czech food our first night in prague, but to be honest, we had no idea how to order or what we would be ordering, so we gave ourselves a free pass and had pizza. it was delicious.
today is friday. we woke up at a decent hour had a really great free breakfast at the pension and we headed out to drop our extra baggage at the institute so that we won't have too much to carry when we leave for Oslo tomorrow afternoon.
speaking of which... we're heading to scandinavia tomorrow: first stop oslo then copenhagen. logan's friend roger is going to show us around oslo tomorrow night and then do some toursity things with us on sunday. should be a good time.
that's all for now... more to come soon.
